Overview

Strike West Pty Ltd (Strike Energy) is proposing to extract gas from its West Erregulla gas field by the constructing and operating a gathering system to connect its gas field and convey the extracted gas to an upstream separating facility. The proposal will supply gas to the proposed gas processing facility (currently under assessment by the EPA) to be operated by AGIO. The proposal is located in the Midwest region of Western Australia, approximately 234 kilometres (km) north-east of Perth and 50 km south-east of Dongara.

The proposal includes a flowline gathering network system connecting four existing gas wells and two new conventional wells to be installed and connected to an upstream compound consisting of pig receiver tie-in points and a common manifold. The proposal terminates at the gas and liquids transfer point. The proposal will result in the clearing of up to 38.46 hectares (ha) of native vegetation within a 93.97 ha Development Envelope.

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is assessing the proposal at the level of Referral Information with additional information required with a two-week public review period.  The proponent’s Environmental Review Document will be released for public review commencing 16 May 2022 and finishing on 30 May 2022.  Submissions can be made via the EPAs Consultation Hub.
