Closed 30 May 2022

Opened 16 May 2022

Overview

AGI Operations Pty Limited (AGIO) is proposing to construct and operate a gas processing plant and pipeline associated with the development of the West Erregulla gas field, located approximately 230 kilometres (km) north-east of Perth and 50 km south-east of Dongara, Western Australia.

The processing plant will process gas produced by Strike Energy from upstream wells. The processed gas will then be transported via a new 16.5 km interconnecting buried pipeline to tie into the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline. The proposal will result in the clearing of up to 90 hectares (ha) of native vegetation within a 213 ha Development Envelope.

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) is assessing the proposal at the level of Referral Information with additional information required with a two-week public review period.  The proponent’s Environmental Review Document will be released for public review commencing 16 May 2022 and finishing on 30 May 2022.  Submissions can be made via the EPAs Consultation Hub. Given potential impacts to matters of national environmental significance, the proposal is being assessed by preliminary documentation by the Commonwealth Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment to satisfy the requirements of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.
