The EPA determined that the proposal would not be assessed, and provided public advice. The proposal is consistent with the outcomes of the EPA's assessment of the Greater Bunbury Region Scheme (GBRS).
Overview
Main Roads Western Australia proposes to construct the Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR) Southern Section (South Western Highway to Bussell Highway) at Bunbury. The project will provide improved access from Bussell Highway in the south, to the Bunbury Port and developing industrial area to the east of Bunbury.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
The Chairman's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
