Sand Quarries within Gnangara Pine Plantation, City of Wanneroo and Shire of Gingin

Overview

Rocla Pty Limited intends to undertake sand mining operations on four sites within tenements E70/3279, E70/3275, E70/3276 and M70/1306.  These tenements are located in the Gnangara Pine Plantation within the City of Wanneroo and, to a lesser degree, the Shire of Gingin.  The majority of the tenements also fall within the Gnangara-Moore River State Forest, which is Department of Environment and Conservation managed land.

What happens next

Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
