The EPA determined that the proposal would not be assessed, and provided public advice. The proposal can be managed to meet the EPA's objectives and requires an EP Act clearing permit and mining proposal under the Mining Act.
Overview
Minjar Gold Pty Ltd project involves varying the current status of the mine from Care and Maintenance to Operating, expanding a series of existing pits, developing new deposits and making a small addition to the accommodation facilities.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
The Chairman's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
