Christmas Creek Iron Ore Mine Expansion

Overview

Chichester Metals Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortescue Metals Group is proposing an expansion of the current Christmas Creek mine. The project is located approximately 111 kilometres north-east of Newman in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia.

What happens next

Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
