Clarke Road Large Format Retail and Hardware Development
Overview
Colchester Pty Ltd propose to construct a large format hardware and retail development at Lot 100 and 256 Clarke Road within the Station Road commercial precinct located 900 metres south of the Margaret River town site. The proposal includes buildings internal roads, hardstand areas and landscaping.
The proposal site is 2.86 hectares (ha) and is bounded by existing commercial business to the north and south, the South Regional TAFE Margaret River Campus to the east and remnant vegetation within a parks and recreation reserve to the west. The site is zoned ‘Service Commercial’.
The proposal would include removal of 1.65 ha and retention of 0.13 ha of native vegetation.
Why your views matter
At this initial stage of the EIA process, comment is simply sought on whether or not the EPA should assess a proposal and, if so, what level of assessment is considered appropriate.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
