Overview

Main Roads Western Australia proposes to upgrade the Goldfields Highway between Wiluna and Meekatharra.  The works will involve minor realignment, raising and sealing of the road, intersection upgrades, drainage improvements, material pit extraction and the creation of camp areas.
 
Clearing of approximately 534 hectares will be required for the works and take approximately three years to complete

What happens next

Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.

The Chairman's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
