Perth Surf Park
Overview
PSP Properties Pty Ltd propose to develop and operate a surf park at Lots 800 and Lot 9001 Prinsep Road, and Lot 801 Knock Way, Jandakot (City of Cockburn). The proposal includes development of an open water surfing lagoon, accommodation, food and beverage venues, function centre and events space, skating facilities, and health and wellness facilities.
The proposal site is 5.78 hectares (ha) and is bound by industrial use areas to the north and south, the Kwinana Freeway to the west and remnant bushland to the east.
Implementation of the proposal may require removal of up to 5.26 ha of native vegetation, including 3.156 ha of Banksia Woodlands State-listed priority ecological community, and potential habitat for threatened species of black cockatoo
Why your views matter
At this initial stage of the EIA process, comment is simply sought on whether or not the EPA should assess a proposal and, if so, what level of assessment is considered appropriate.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
