Overview

The Proposal is to construct and operate the Pluto to Northwest Shelf Interconnector, a 3.3 km long, steel buried natural gas pipeline, connecting the Pluto Interconnector Compressor Station to the Karratha Gas Plant which is operated by Woodside on behalf of the North West Shelf Project participants, located on the Burrup Peninsula in the North of Western Australia.

The proposal will require the clearing of an estimated 10.69 ha.3.26 ha within the Karratha Gas Plant Lease and Buffer Zone Lease and 7.43 ha within Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline Corridor and Dampier facilities area.

Why your views matter

At this initial stage of the EIA process, comment is simply sought on whether or not the EPA should assess a proposal and, if so, what level of assessment is considered appropriate.

What happens next

Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
