Theia-3H exploration well stimulation program
Overview
Theia Energy No.1 Pty Ltd (the Proponent) proposes to drill two exploration wells (one vertical and one horizontal) and undertake hydraulic fracture stimulation of the horizontal well within Petroleum Exploration Permit EP493 located in the Canning Basin, 155km South-east of Broome.
The Proposal involves an extension of the existing well site and camp site, drilling of two exploration wells (Theia-2V and Theia-3H), hydraulic fracture stimulation (HFS) and flow-test of Theia-3H.
The Proposal requires the following key elements:

Prepare well site, camp and access tracks

Drill one vertical well and one horizontal well

Theia-3H HFS program and production flow test

Site care and maintenance
The proposal would include a total disturbance of 6 hectares (ha) within a development envelope of 14 ha.
Why your views matter
At this initial stage of the EIA process, comment is simply sought on whether or not the EPA should assess a proposal and, if so, what level of assessment is considered appropriate.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
The EPA's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
