Overview

Strike South West Pty Ltd propose to construct and operate the Walyering Conventional Gas Development. The proposal will comprise two free-flowing conventional gas wells, a gathering system of flowlines, a production facility and a tie-in point to the third-party operated Parmelia Gas Pipeline.  

The proposal is located within an agricultural area approximately 6.5 kilometres (km) northwest of Cataby and 21 km west of Dandaragan (Shire of Dandaragan). 

The proposal would include a total disturbance area of 15.31 hectares (ha) within a development envelope of 91.41 ha. No clearing of native vegetation is required. The maximum life of the project is 10 years.

Why your views matter

At this initial stage of the EIA process, comment is simply sought on whether or not the EPA should assess a proposal and, if so, what level of assessment is considered appropriate.

What happens next

Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
