Alterations and Additions to Existing Poultry Farm
Overview
The Shire of Gingin has referred an application to make alterations and additions to an existing Poultry farm for a decision on whether or not to assess the proposal and, if so, the level of assessment. The application, from Allerding and Associates on behalf of Snowdale Holdings Pty Ltd, is to add four additional free range chicken sheds and associated paddocks, a manure storage shed, workers accommodation for staff, and to relocate the proposed caretakers dwelling. The purpose of the alterations and additions is to increase the farm capacity from 120,000 to 240,000 chickens.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
