The EPA determined that the proposal did not require formal environmental impact assessment as potential impacts could be managed under Part V (clearing ) of the EP Act.
Overview
The Department of Environment Regulation has referred a clearing application to the EPA for a decision on wheather or not to assess the proposal and, if so, the level of assessment. The application, from CSBP Limited, is to clear 0.5 hectares of native vegetation on various lots in Leda and within Wellard Road Reserves in Leda and East Rockingham, for the purpose of installing a fence line.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
The Chairman's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
