Marda East Gold Project
Overview
Southern Cross Goldfields proposes the Marda East Gold Project located 140 kilometres north of Southern Cross in the Shires of Menzies and Yilgarn. The proposal is to mine ore from two deposits (Red Legs and Fiddleback). Processing and tailings will be carried out in Marda Central (outside the scope of this proposal).
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
The Chairman's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
