Overview

Hinckley Range Pty Ltd proposes the Wingellina Nickel Project that involves open pit mining of nickeliferous limonite ore and on-site processing using a high pressure acid leach (HPAL) process to produce an intermediate mixed nickel-cobalt hydroxide product for shipping to third party refineries.

What happens next

Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
