Iron Valley Below Water Table Project

Overview

BC Pilbara Iron Pty Ltd proposes to amend the Iron Valley above water table iron ore project in the Pilbara, to extend mining below the water table.
The proposal includes the change to develop one new pit, extend two existing pits below the water table and develop associated mine infrastructure.

What happens next

Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.

The Chairman's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
