Lumsden Point General Cargo Facility, Town of Port Hedland
Overview
In its port development planning, Port Hedland Port Authority has identified Lumsden Point as a potential site to develop a common user facility both to alleviate trade growth pressures on berths 1, 2 and 3 to accommodate potential marine supply trades supporting the offshore oil and gas and other industries.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
The Chairman's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
