Ravensthorpe Gold Copper Project
Overview
ACH Minerals Pty Ltd proposes to develop the Kundip and Myamba Mine Sites located 17 and 26 kilometres respectively, south east of the town of Ravensthorpe.
Kundip Mine Site is proposed to include open pits and underground mining, processing facilities and associated infrastructure with up to 248 hectares of clearing of vegetation.
Myamba Mine Site is proposed to include open pit mining with associated infrastructure with up to 64 hectares of clearing of vegetation. Ore will be trucked by road trains via the Hopetoun-Ravensthorpe Road to the processing facility at the Kundip Mine Site.
A four hectare water pipeline corridor connecting the two mine sites is also proposed adjacent to the Hopetoun-Ravensthorpe Road.
Why your views matter
At this initial stage of the EIA process, comment is simply sought on whether or not the EPA should assess a proposal and, if so, what level of assessment is considered appropriate.
What happens next
Following the seven day public comment period and consideration of any comments received, the EPA will decide whether or not this proposal requires environmental impact assessment and, if so, what level of assessment will be applied.
The EPA's decisions on level of assessment are released each Monday on the EPA's website.
